San Agustin, Colombia — Yolanda Samboni
Once a treasure hunter, Carlos Imbachi’s journey took a turn when he and his wife, Yolanda, settled in La Argentina to grow coffee. For years, coffee was a struggle—sold wet and with little profit, barely covering labor costs. It wasn’t until Caravela’s team visited their farm over a decade ago that Carlos and Yolanda began to see coffee in a new light. Inspired, they focused on improving every step from harvest to processing, committed to quality over quantity.
Today, the Imbachi family produces exceptional specialty coffee that reflects their dedication and hard work. Their farm benefits from the rich volcanic soil and the unique climate of the San Agustin region, where the Magdalena River begins its course. Surrounded by history and nature, their coffee offers a vibrant cup, with bright, juicy flavors of grape and melon, complemented by subtle floral notes of rose. The experience is lively but balanced, showcasing a clean sweetness and delicate complexity.
Coffee is Yolanda’s second passion, after her family, and together they’ve built a legacy embraced by their children. Their oldest son, Didier, now serves as Quality Assurance Coordinator at Caravela, ensuring each batch meets the family’s high standards.
This coffee is a tribute to resilience, transformation, and a deep connection to place, inviting you to savor both its story and its bright, nuanced flavor.
